Wool and Glass is a website and blog dedicated to my lifelong interest in traditional craft but particularly the medium of wool and glass. Often there is a great debate about what constitutes art and what constitutes craft, and whether one is privileged over the other. For me the starting point is not in the functionality nor in the aesthetic but always in the medium. Here I celebrate both mediums in their different forms while my own creative practice more and more moves towards exploring the connection between the two (see my woven stained glass window, and my woolly sheep depicted in glass). I also intend to blog about my travels and experiments as I develop my practice.
